UPDATE 8 - As of Saturday, November 17, 2012, we are at 125,125 points, with only 34,875 points left to go! I was able to purchase 2,000 points a moment ago to put directly into the pool myself. My original intent was to get 8,000, but I ended up working less than I expected this week and was unable to, but as of my next paycheck (in two weeks), I will be able to purchase 8,000! That will leave us with 26,875. And after `TimberClipse's AWESOME point doubler, like the one that helped out and did so amazingly earlier in the year, that will be another 8,000, leaving us with only 18,875! And his doubler is already halfway full with much thanks to =rainylake for immediately putting 2,000 points in

Warm Winter Project: 2012 Public AnnouncementUPDATE 2As of January 4, we reach the 30k mark! Not even a full week into the year, and we're already 1/5 of the way there, everyone!!!

UPDATE 1 - I was also informed that the deviantART staff will be matching me my hoodies purchased at the end of this year for my donation!!! If I buy 50, they'll provide 50 more! If I'm only able to buy 30, then they'll provide thirty more!!!

Why you feature stolen work?!?!Lately there seem to have been a few myths flying around in particular with regards to how we as Community Volunteers, give Daily Deviations. Many people seem to think that we sit at our desks in dark little rooms and let out evil laughter whilst we purposefully feature stolen work. The dark rooms and laughter - well I can't say yes or no on that one! But I can promise you it's not our intent to give exposure to people who have stolen work. I recently featured a piece of work that turned out to be stolen. However I went into extensive conversations with the artist before I featured it, and with added metadata and dates, it's difficult to know where to draw the line. I've given people the benefit of the doubt before - and it's worked out nicely as their work has been legitimate. Below are some comments I have seen being thrown around the past few days - and hopefully an attempt to bust the myth.

Film and Animation VolunteerGood day to you all! Some of you here will already know me as a chat and forum community volunteer. Today I have extended my purpose on deviantART as your new Film and Animation volunteer as well!
For those of you who don't know me though, allow me to briefly introduce myself. I am an British illustrator and animator, who has had animations screened in short film screenings and festivals. Although I tend to animate digitally a lot these days my work often pays homage to classic animations.
I hope to waft some fresh air into the film and animation galleries and bring it to life, and I can't wait to meet more of you film-makers and film-lovers alike!

BIG HUGE UPDATE ON WARM WINTER PROJECT!

GUYS! I have to update on the Warm Winter Project. Now, I completely forgot that with Black Friday, there would be a sale. When I saw the 30% off ALL PRODUCTS sale and the note in the announcement showing that the 10% Premium Member would be added on as well, I figured if I got 40% off my entire order, why not go ahead and order some of the hoodies?

So, I originally intended to order 15 Medium Men's and 15 Medium Women's hoodies, but when I saw that I would have PLENTY left over, I went ahead and put a total of 25 of each in my order. Unfortunately, my order couldn't go through when I received a notice saying there were only 16 of one and 19 of the other. I went ahead and filled the order to it's max and order the remaining 16 of my 50 hoodie goal in another design.

WITH YOUR DONATIONS, THE BLACK FRIDAY SALE, AND MY PREMIUM MEMBER DISCOUNT, AS OF TODAY, SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 25, 2012, I HAVE MET AND PURCHASED MY GOAL OF 50 HOODIES.

As for the deviant $taff's offer to match my purchase up to 50 hoodies for free, I haven't sent a message to anyone to work that out yet, considering I was expecting to have to do it a month from now. I have to go finish getting ready for work, but as soon as I get back from work, I'm going to send a Note to someone and as about working that out. And if they can't with the holiday rush, then trust me - That's perfectly fine! It was more than generous of them to even offer earlier this year, and with me getting these off at almost half the price, I would completely understand and be okay with that. I - NO. </b>We, as a community, met our goal a month early.</b> I am VERY happy and excited to receive them to donate this season! And it's getting very nippy, so this is the perfect timing.

I figured this announcement would suffice instead of doing a feature this morning. I have everyone has a FAN-fucking-TASTIC day and that even though tomorrow's Monday, this makes your week, month, rest of the year! like it does for me. Thank you all so, so much for everything you've done to promote, donate, spread the word, encourage me, and just overall help with this in general. I have 5,770 points left over and haven't decided what to do with them yet, but once I figure something out, I'll post a Journal about it. I do know it's going to involve giving back to y'all in on way or another.
