UPDATE 8 - As of Saturday, November 17, 2012, we are at 125,125 points, with only 34,875 points left to go! I was able to purchase 2,000 points a moment ago to put directly into the pool myself. My original intent was to get 8,000, but I ended up working less than I expected this week and was unable to, but as of my next paycheck (in two weeks), I will be able to purchase 8,000! That will leave us with 26,875. And after `TimberClipse's AWESOME point doubler, like the one that helped out and did so amazingly earlier in the year, that will be another 8,000, leaving us with only 18,875! And his doubler is already halfway full with much thanks to =rainylake for immediately putting 2,000 points into his pool! It's so so exciting and I can't wait to see this project come into completion, and even if I don't get to meet my entire goal, with deviantART $taff's generous offer to match my order of hoodies free, I will have the 50 I aimed for, as well as plenty extras to give out to the needy and those in need of warmth this winter!

UPDATE 7 - As of Friday, June 1, 2012, we have officially broken the 100,000 points mark! I can now say that we have less than 60,000 points to go! This is so amazing, and we;re only on the cusp of being barely halfway through the year! Everyone's coming together so amazingly and so graciously, it's such a wondrous and incredible thing to see! Thank you all so much, and we ARE going to make this happen!

UPDATE 6 - As of May 18, `TimberClipse's Point Doubler reached it's goal successfully! I received a whopping 10,000 points for the project and got so much closer to our goal! Thank you all so much for Zev for setting up the doubler, every single sponsor, and each and every person who donated to reach the match goal!

UPDATE 5 - As of March 21, 2011, we are already halfway there. The current time is 7 30 pm and we are, at the moment, EXACTLY AT 80,000 points! Talk about teamwork and gettin' it done, guys! This is so amazing and wonderful, and thank you so, so, so, so incredibly much to everyone for everything so far!

UPDATE 4 - As of January 16, I'm officially soon receiving a shipment of hoodies from =Savoirfaire-Roma that they so generously offered to donate in addition to the hoodies being purchased by the project here on deviantART!!!This is just awesome!!!

UPDATE 3 - As of January 6, we've broken the 50k mark on the Warm Winter Project!!! A little over 1/5 of the way there already!!!

UPDATE 2 - I also received a note from $Heidi earlier today (1.4.12) letting me know that deviantART would like to match my donations on their behalf!! That means when I reach my goal of 50, I will be receiving 50 more hoodies from deviantART for my cause, or 30 or 40, depending on how many I'm able to purchase at the time!!!

UPDATE 1 - I also submitted this to `thorns Community Complaint Challenge project. If there's a complain you have about the Community, then DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT THIS YEAR!!! In a positive way! I felt that our online family has been quite discontented lately with all the dArama and hate flying around, so I felt this an appropriate entry. I don't care if it wins, but I do care if it gets even the tiniest bit of exposure, and I also care about advertising her project to everyone who watches me, because hopefully, it'll inspire all of you to make a commitment to a better dA community as well!




On my profile, in the top right, there's a donation pool. I want to spend the entire year raising up enough points to buy 50 Vertical Zip hoodies to donate to the nearest homeless shelter at the end of the year next year. I've never had a hard time with money, in fact, you could say I was pretty spoiled. I never let it get to me, I've always been helpful, but I've never been able to actually help with donations or charities, especially during Christmas time. I've always done what I could, give loose change when buying something at the Dollar Store, I've always very happily dropped in what little money I had for the Salvation Army buckets outside Wal*Marts. But I've never been able to do anything big that I could actually see make a difference in somebody's Life, and I want to do that. After I get my settlement and move back to Savannah, I plan on giving everything extra that I have. But for right now, I want to be able to use deviantART, my current one and only resource to reach out and communicate with people and help them or ask them to help me help others who need it more, to do what I can for people who need it.

I know there are people who say that the homeless need to just get their asses off the street and get a job. My father is one of those people, and always have been. But there are children left alone all the time; People who have been kicked out; Those who have lost their jobs and, in this economy, take q longer time to find another. It's not exactly easy to get a job if you have nowhere to live, no way to bathe, and no form of being contacted. At the very least, we can try to make it a little easier. Both jobs I ever had so far were because someone helped me get them; I've always had someone, or something, and that's what we all take for granted. - that if we didn't have our parents housing us, or our employers keeping us, or our friends helping us, we would all be hungry and cold and lonely, too. We all have to help each other, we can't just let other suffers because they can't do something on their own. So please, this upcoming year, if you can and want to, help me make sure I can keep 50 people warm next winter. If everyone donates 400 points, only $5, then only 400 people will have to donate. If everyone donates 100 points, then only 1600 people would have to donate. In a year's time on this community, that should be nothing. I know we can all do this.
